Shaggy... what you fail to realize is that WE ALL have been in the "bottom 300" at one (or multiple) times in our lives! You mistakenly confuse self-reliance for selfishness. They are not the same.

You must be such a joy to fly with! What fleet was that again? I'll make sure not to bid it! I have said it over and over again! I will survive and don't want anything from anyone! If that's not self-reliance I am not sure what is! Go ahead and admit it, you and Jungle are not Team players! I am sure I am not telling you guys anything you don't already know!

You are confusing the issue. It is not just for the "bottom 300" it is for everyone not in the "top 1000" on the list. The downgrades, domicile changes, and loss of bidding power for lines and vacations will affect a lot more than the 300. If you are in the top 1000 congratulations, you wont be affected by a furlough and the displacement of the crews off the DC8. Even so you should know what the right thing to do as a member of the IPA.

Is there some reason you people think that you can't both act in your own self interest and help out a brother pilot at the same time? Just because someone takes one of the voluntary offers that he likes doesn't mean he is not also motivated by a desire to help someone else out.

I was looking forward to early retirement! Until I read you had to be 55! Guess I will have to wait another 20 years....that's is just too long.... Hopefully there will be a good turnout with all the options available.

"I have said it over and over again! I will survive and don't want anything from anyone!"

Shaggy, there are people reading this that would like to keep furloughs from happening at UPS. You seem to want to fall on some samurai sword and want to spite the entire process. Are you telling me, IPAer to IPAer, that you don't want me to volunteer to mitigate your furlough?

Just trying to make things clear.

I'm guessing that Shaggy is one of the usual 5%ers that happens to be in the bottom 300 of the list. Not really sure though....

"You must be such a joy to fly with! What fleet was that again? I'll make sure not to bid it!"

ONT 757. Knock yerself out.

I do not know if 846 people said they would volunteer for the programs.

But, i f the 95% number is correct then you will have about 2660 pilots not flying OT or JAs. ie.. sharing the burden.

Kudos to the IPA for negotiating this MOU, I am pleasantly surprised at the options. Let's hope those that said they would volunteer do so!

I am impressed with what the IPA has done so far with this plan. Great job! Take note ALPA!
