IPA UPS agreement

On the early retirement end of things, is there any real incentive now? I understand the "no reduction in actuarial benefit" for those that wish to retire early. History is showing though most opting to stay past 60. What about those currently over 60? They get an extra one year credit? I've heard some saying they need an extra 5 years credit to get them moving. I could see them going for a job share but not necessarily an early retirement.
Anyhow, I applaud the IPA and UPS for so far what seems like a program that could work.

When I was junior (like EVERYONE else in this industry!) I didn't exhale until I had 25% of the seniority list below me. EVERY airline pilot understands the vagaries, seniority-based system, and cyclical nature of this industry when we started in aviation. When I was junior, I wouldn't dream... couldn't begin to even POSSIBLY BEGIN to fathom... that it was anyone else's responsibility to provide for me (or my family) in life. Where on this big beautiful dust ball of a planet have you obtained the belief that others are responsible for your well being or that it is their DUTY to ensure it?

All of them.

That's why I fully expected to be on the street in a few months.
But I am really glad to see that there are hundreds (846) of us that do, in fact, have a selfless aspect of character to share in the burden of the economic times, and help out their union brothers.
