YGTBSM! You are trying to say everyone above you has to pony up thousands of dollars to save you. I was lucky to get hired a little sooner than you. If furloughed I would not expect those above me to feel obligated to give up pay. I have done more than my share to save the company money via mil leave already. I could take mil leave if furloughed, but I won't/can't deploy to Afghanistan to save a job. I guess I am a selfish jerk.

This could be a really great deal for everyone. It just depends on how you look at it.
When you're lying on your death bed with five minutes to live, are you going to look back and wish you had made more money?
Or...would you rather look back on the great memories you were able to produce, with your family and friends, doing all of the things you really wanted to do?
Life is short Gents. How about all of us just take a couple of months off?

With the 40 PFEs/over 65 guys effectively gone we are down to 2864 pilots on property. With the mandatory retirements of the ANC Favres coming in the next 2 years we will not be fat especially when the 767s come. The recovery has begun. UPS will not furlough. Take it to the bank.

And I agree with that. There is no excuse for a bottom 300 not to do one of these programs. We survived first year pay for an entire year. A bottom 300 guy doing one bid period at what would still be double first year pay in order to save one's job is only logical.
