Just to play devil's advocate, how do you know an EB member didn't say it? He said/ he said. It all comes down to who you trust more.

Since no one has jumped out and said I personally , and name themselves, heard this specific EB member say this at this time I would say its bullsh%$.
I trust the EB more than any manager.

just spoke to an eb member and he said this is completely untrue. 300 is the number, they said originally they were wanting 500 but the managers know that they can 't make it with more than 300 furloughs and the 300 do take the dc8 parking into account,

Night-

Did you go to the ANC social Saturday night and talk to the EB member who was to attend? I recall talking to said EB member in March right after the announcement came out and he said they were seriously considering parking the 8's by June. By that I figured the 300 most likely included took this into account.

This will(in my opinion only) come down to the company saying that they need more than 300 furloughed. There will be a joint release from the union and company saying that even though they have agreed to the IPA's plan at cost savings, they will still have to furlough 150-200 guys. The IPA will say they saved a couple hundred jobs and the company can finally say they got their furlough. If they do indeed furlough 450, I would be in total shock. Parking the 8 in May, has been in the plans for a long time in my opinion.

I agree. Everyone looks good except the 150 thrown under the bus.

I think that they would have been parked last May if it weren't for the possibility of a DHL deal where they might need the lift. It hasn't been needed for our stuff for quite some time and you can see that in the bid packages. The speed at which we are seeing it parked now is as a result of plan B, once the DHL deal was a non starter.

I wouldn't mind dragging my pay out for a few more months...rumors don't affect much...
