I have 101 who have upgraded or been given a class date, of which four (4) turn 65 this year. Seventeen (17) more received bid awards but are on long-term medicals or EB member. Four (4) more received bid awards who then retired. Manpower planning takes into account those on medicals when they come up with their vacancy bid numbers.

Just curious where in the world would a possible furloughee be saying that about an over 60 guy? And exactly what would it be about? According to my recollection the over 60 crowd are not suffering since the law changed? They are not going to have to "Deal with it"

Thumbs down

They are using these pilots jobs as hostage to get contract concessions, which is just scummy.
Yep and after we are furloughed in September UPS is going to keep us hostage until Contract 2012 is negotiated. This is why many of us future furloughees fear a very long furlough 3-5 years.

It is a relief that when flying, most of our fellow IPA members, both old and young - junior and senior, don't have those same sentiments - the majority here have respect for one another and conduct themselves in a professional manner. The ones who continue to beat the same drum at every opportunity won't be swayed, so it serves no purpose. As I have posted before, you are going to have a few in every group that reflect poorly on the whole - I myself won't fault them as to the manner they express their opinions - young or old -
Possibly you are correct. However having worked at UPS for a long time to go I do like to know who I can trust to stand behind me, You are correct that I could trust the vast majority. Other forums offered the opportunity to know who you are communicating with on a topic, the policy at this one is different.

Very hard to like the junior guy with that attitude, many of us are taking note.
Nice threat which does not help or add anything good to the situation. Most future furloughees have misguided anger and are looking for someone to blame as well as UPS. Once the furloughs start most will then misguide their anger at the IPA. Just ask many of the 300 about their experience with ALPA during their furloughs at other airlines before UPS. IMHO

So we have 75 actual impact and not 300 plus.

Its not a threat, just a statement that they don't function in a vacum and usually one action has a reaction.

No I believe the total was 122 but only 101 impacted the seniority list.

one action has reaction? now that statement is almost funny....

NDs come back, junior new-hires get pushed out...i'd say your theory is correct.

Possible , not probable. There won't be any concessions in 2012 either.
