Not yet, but can you think of any reason I shouldn't. I could have gone home for $45 but I chose to meet my ride half way for $20. Win-Win for all; unless I get put on a list. But I won't know that till the PI shows up after my next trip.
Can you imagine a FSDO applicant background check: Well we can't prove anything but his expense report does show some suspicious behavior. Our PI did find a Pro-Life bumper sticker on his truck though.
It is not earth shattering; but I do find it coincidental that the company that cheats us on accepted fares will go to such length to protect their bank money.

Uhh yah, I can think of a very simple reason. It's not true. If you expense $25 for your $20 cab ride, you are falsifying an expense report. And, you should be disciplined.
I'm done. But, if you're lying on expense reports...You have no reason to biatch about the consequences. But, I certainly have every reason to be angry about you using my dues money for your legal representaion, when you get fired.

Have you ever heard of the "Golden Rule?" That's where the one with the gold makes the rules. It might not be fair, or even right or ethical, for that matter, but it is the way it is. I understand you're not liking it, but you still do have to follow the rules, as I am sure you are. And again, I say to you, it's not about the bank money (that you seem to like to dwell on), it's about honesty and following the rules. Sort of reminds me of the age-old question: "is it against the law to run a stop light when no one is watching?"

Good, but some have filed expense reports for fictitious expenses. If the company decides to put my name on a list and follow me, they are going to be disappointed and have wasted quite a bit of time and money. Since I'm honest, it doesn't upset me. In fact, I hope they catch several idiots that want to throw away their career for a few $25 checks.
I just hope they are senior idiots.

See this is why I said busboy's post was a straw man. No one here is arguing that it is OK to cheat FEDEX. In fact everyone here claims to follow the rules.
I would never cheat on my taxes or cheat Fred of his nickle. I did raise a very legitimate concern of why a federally licensed employee should be concerned if the company secretly opens a file and investigates him. If the feds come to your ACP and ask: can you think of any reason Jet Jock can't be trusted. How does he answer if he knows they just hired a PI to follow you around? You could very well be black balled and not know the reason. At a time when Homeland Security (don't they own TSA) is looking at bumper stickers.
Your (jet jock) position is surprising because I bet (if I looked) I could find a couple of John Ashcroft Patriot act boogeyman posts in your background.

It is a straw man because the amount of the claim does not matter (under $25). The argument is whether the company can hire Private Investigators to follow you around or not.
If the company has a problem with this behavior than go to the union and negotiate receipts required for all expenses. I have no problem with that.
