They can't film you but according to the link bellow they can listen in as long as your cell phone is nearby. Pretty creepy. I guess we shouldn't leave our cell phones unattended in the AOC anymore - Big brother is watching.

I have zero sympathy for a non-member losing his job (I had to fly with TWO of them last week - it sucked, couldn't talk the whole time), and only marginal sympathy for the member, if they were pulling fast ones on the expense report. If it was an honest mistake, it'll come out and they'll probably get their job back. But, at least I applaud the union putting the word out there as a reminder to the rest of us - don't screw around, the company is watching.

I don't have any sympathy for any of the non-union guys getting bounced either.

Maybe I'm just old fashioned (or at least just old) but I don't understand why anyone would have sympathy for someone getting fired for actual abuse of company ROE. That goes for non-members and members alike. After all, these guys are causing the knee-jerk reaction (like the company supposedly hiring private investigators to follow guys around) that seems to have so many here upset. If you don't understand that by falsifying company documentation, you become eligible for disciplinary action, up to and including termination, then I've no problem with your getting the ax for lying, cheating or stealing. Guys who do those things don't belong in this profession, just as guys who try to beat the system by reporting their permanent address falsely, just to save some bucks on taxes, should in my opinion, be dealt with harshly. Again, maybe I'm just too old fashioned. The issue is not that some guys are trying to screw the company out of $25, it's the realization that we have people in our midst who are willing to lie, cheat and steal, and I for one, don't want to have to rely on someone who displays those characteristics. I don't think the company cares if you take a cab all the way home, or only as far as your BNR's (bunny of non-record) house. They do care if you get in from a trip and fire up the old airporter, drive home, then file an expense report, claiming cab fare. Just my take. Fire away.

I don't think crooks or tax cheats belong in the cockpit (or the Department of the Treasury) but there are places in this country where taxi's do not take credit cards. If your taxi driver speaks english (or bubba) you are probably in one of those places.
Getting your name on a "list" because of it is a little unnerving. Once your name is on a company "list" I suspect it is very hard to keep your name off of other company "lists".

I may be wrong here...But, I believe it is much more complex than just not using the credit card. The e-mail seemed pretty clear to me...You expense cash, you live farther than $25 worth of taxi ride from your home and you expense the maximum allowable without a receipt($25) for a taxi ride home.
Of course, why would that seem suspicious? We know that no one at FDX would do such a thing.
I expense cash cab rides quite often. I'm not concerned in the least of being on some list. Why? Because I'm actually taking a cab, and I'm actually paying with cash.

Jetjok, I don't disagree with you at all as to whether they are union or non when folks are fired for lieing, stealing or cheating. Someone stole my jacket one night several years ago off the hangar rack in the locker room in AOC. If I ever find out who it was, I will press for their firing. Period. I don't want theives in my profession.
