Amazing the stuff in that contract.

At least now I'll have a reference before speaking up.

So, what's the answer? Has the SIG approved non-HKG crews being ground transported between HKG and CAN? Should the non-HKG crews go to the union if a HKG-CAN ground DH shows up on their trip? I know, I know - call DT in contract enforcement. But, has anyone done that yet?

Is DT finished negotiating his contract, with us? I haven't found him very helpful most of the time.

I am not here to apologize for bad bedside manner, and I know how frustrating it can be to call and get a "...yep...they can do that..." answer. What I will suggest is a copy of any correpsondence go to your block rep as well, or even go there first. Then we can forward said questions and also get smarter in the process. I've gotten more and more familiar with both the contract and current hot topics but taking members' questions and running them up through the wickets, and then I am also there to follow up if required. None of this guarantees the outcome you want, but if there is a "..well dang it!.." moment we can file that data point away and hopefully work to solve it down the road...through negotiations, settlements, or other methods.

By the way...if you flew the Falcon its time to retire....

I didn't fly the falcon, I played on them when they were parked, when I was alot younger. Threw a box or two at the side wall. I just like the picture. Times have changed. One always remembers things in a better light as time passes, and the memory dulls.

I seen what a great job DT can do. He does it for a select few. I flew with a guy and we got the short end of the stick. Sent an email to DT, DT got right on it and explained it, thoroughly and in layman's terms. It was great. Not because he was supposed to but because he knew this person in a previous life. At any rate we take good care of them, they need a little charm school. Not soft but, I don't understand most of this contract and the holes in it. I do read the contract before I call....

Albie glad you are there for us.

Thx

I wish I could retire!!! I have a long ways to go, unfortunately.

Since it can only be approved by the SIG, why not email them??

As far as I know, the transportation has been approved for FDA crewmembers only. I know there aren't any CAN-HKG GT's in the LAX bidpack.

Just think what we could have had if we had let the company bleed a while when they couldn't find MD guys, especially FOs, to draft for trips. Once they came back with an offer, we jumped--too soon. If our negotiating team wanted to, we could, for a change, sit back, play golf and wait for the company to BEG us to come back to the table. We'll do better than crumbs. But, nothing will happen till we show some resolve.

It's hard to say - "no, we'll think about it" when their offer is one WE came up with 6 months earlier

Good point but things changed in that 6 months--we suddenly had bargaining power thanks to our resolve. Raising our ante wouldn't have been anything the company negotiators hadn't used on us for years--dangling an offer in front of us and renigging on it when we accept.

The volcano has caused many flights to be revised and extended and even though we are "overmanned" it is next to impossible to drop a trip in ANC!

How many MEM bubbas had 150+ hour lines for April?
I'm not sure on either of your questions, but without a doubt he did fly in Apr an 82 CH extra pairing that he had to pick up via make up, draft, or vol. Additionally, he also flew a 58 CH trip that he also picked up. And he still has a 10 CH trip on his line. So he is flying at least 140 CH in Apr and possibly 150 CH. The previous poster was just making that observation. For me, I at least find it interesting and informative on where one of our new union leaders stands on flying hours when others are flying 58 CH.
