FDX - Inbound sort
Gotta love the new FCIF about the Memphis recovery. Remember the old days when the "purple promise" involved peeling the paint of the nose and treating this airline's ops as though we WERE the world on time.
Then standards says, "sloooowwwww down". Look at how much gas we can save! No matter that this caused a backup that rippled through the system. Now.....looks like our RDL's are adding up. Hmm, let's come up with an idea! If you in the front of the pack, let's haul booty to get in and out of the way instead of creating a bottleneck for everyone in trail.
It's like the beer commercial...
"let's hire into ANC, and create an insulting moniker for these people to save training costs!" Genius!
Or...."let's bump those "nuggets" out of ANC since they are causing POP!" Genius!
Or...."let's create a FDA in Paris, and not pay enough to live there!" Genius!
Or...."let's create an FDA in HKG, and not pay enough to live there!" Genius!
Or...."let's have a massive excess bid to force-fill HKG...then cancel it" Genius!
Or...."let's have ANOTHER massive excess bid to force-fill HKG!" Genius!
Or...."let's enact a part of the contract to pi$$ off the pilot group, to save some money under the guise of a prevention to furlough!" Genius!
Or...."let's optimize pairings to squeeze more utilization our of an already sqeezed pilot force, to save more money!" Genius!
Feel free to continue the thread....honestly, if we ran our cockpits like they run this airline, I'd be in charm school 24-7.
How bout this for the new FDX FLT MGT motto:
"FedEx Flight Management - Managing for the Moment"

The company will do well. But the Express division is contracting despite incorrect assumptions it would grow forever.
Why do you think the "generous" offer was made concerning those who haven't resigned from previous 121 careers?

Piper, I was in a Navy squadron that had fantastic leadership and won the Battle "E" two years in a row. I loved it! The XO took over, and he couldn't run a girl scout troop, we started crashing airplanes. It's not about us, it's about our leaders, and I include the MEC leadership. We are in tough times, and need real leaders. Anyone can lead and do reasonably well in the boom years, but we are in the bust years. You say go look for other jobs, but the rats leaving is a sure sign the ship is sinking. When the carrier runs aground you don't yell at the crew, you change the skipper. One bad leader can destroy a company, any company.
