Your guess is as good as mine since there is nothing on the ALPA website highlighting what this is about. I question what possible motive they could have for instigating a lawsuit against the company for their treatment of 757 Instructors. Is it to get the Instructor cadre something more? I think not...

Don't know what specifically they are looking for but at a recent LEC meeting, JG and DM said that filing a grievance isn't that big a deal but filing a lawsuit against Fedex is. The company really wants to avoid any actual lawsuits and the press that come with it. So that's part of it.

So if you don't know what the lawsuit is about, why are you trashing it? Why don't you call CB and ask him? Courts are used when the company violates a section of the contract. When there is a question about what the language means, it is grieved. Sounds like the union thinks the company violated the contract. I think that one of the lec or block updates might address the lawsuit.

Probably because of the passover pay being paid to instructors who do not qualify for it under the CBA. (Just a wild guess)

Great point. I've got emails in to my Block rep and CB requesting information. Why would the Association say "There's a lawsuit", but have NO information on it anywhere? It's not that I don't know what it's about, I've heard all the rumors. I just don't like putting forth rumors or suppositions. If I get an answer that confirms the rumors, I'm right to trash it. Unless the fact is 180 degrees out from the rumors, I'm right to trash it. We'll see what responses I get...

Here is an idea, ALPA could post the paperwork that was filed with the courts.

I am sure it is, but what court house do I need to go pick it up at, and then how much do I have to pay for copies. Wouldn't it be pretty easy for our MEC to post it on the website?
