have they started any training from the last excess bid or are they waiting until all of the "excessing" is done? What are the chances this is the last one or will there be more on the way to get it lined up the way they want it.

Have a buddy in that situation, and he doesn't show up anywhere.
It's interesting/unfortunate how that can negatively skew the #s during an excess bid...pushing more folks downward than would happen otherwise.
I believe when you return, you will be awarded whatever crew position you can hold.
