Default Avoiding furlough at UPS slides

Anyone checked out the slides? I thought reducing the bid line Guarantee was not part of the discussion? Someone tell me whats with over 50% of the folks in the IPA voting for it??? I am confused! Kick these clowns out of the office and tell them to pound sand already! Don't give them a dime. I rather be furloughed than deal with this bull$hit. Someone please explain this to me. Salty where are you?

Take it easy. Remember, these are lines that are built to "x" hours, for no work. I'm not sure how it would work, if they come out, but I'd think that you would have to request those kinds of lines. Everyone else keeps their normal guarantee. And I'm sure you couldn't be involuntarily assigned one of these lines.

Let's just wait and see what the EB has for us. I think the bigger question is if this does come out, will the people who answered in their survey that they would do one of the options step up to the plate and do what they said they would do. Sit tight...

It is voluntary in theory. It wasn't 50% of all IPA pilots but only about 420 or so that said they were willing to have their line reduced. Even though it would be voluntary I still don't see anywhere in our contract that addresses this (therefore it isn't contract compliant).

Yes, but none of it is. This is semantics. The things that we agreed to are still intact. Nothing is being reduced or taken away. This would be an addition to the contract. I don't see what the big deal is if something like this comes out. This isn't being forced upon everyone. Concessions are a whole 'nother thing.

Let's just wait to see if anything comes out, then we can start our debates.

So a side letter to the side letter to the side letter, right???? I am not getting a warm fuzzy as far as where we are going with this thing! So all this time this is what we came up with? How about building lines that are not over 75 hours, or contractually compliant, CARF, etc???? I submitted eight different ideas as far as ways of making real savings and not one mentioned! I am starting to give up hope, and looking at careers outside of flying!

Once again I see Bob Miller and the EB taking care of the geezers. Screw you if you don't fit into his plan. Does anyone actually think these geezers will take a reduced guarantee?

Yes. Obviously this is your first airline.

Wait till the details come out, if UPS even wants to do it.

I think you'll find the company won't have any problem getting volunteers for reduced work/pay.

That's the way it goes at the other airlines.

Why don't you ask some of your buddies that work at some other pax airlines?

Yeah, I'd be surprised if us junior guys could even hold lines with reduced work/pay.

This comment I am sure will inspire senior pilots to jump in there to help you out.
