I don't blame them for anything either ... and they certainly worked hard at improving this place. But the first sentence stretches things a bit.

Would this place be "the place to come to" if the legacies like DAL, UAL, NWA didn't take it in the shorts over the last 8 years ?

I think not ... but believe what you want.

I am proud of the fact hundreds of IPA guys have stepped up to help. UPS is in a contract land grab and will hire or layoff as they deem fit.
We did and are working hard to make this a good place to work. You sound as if you have what it takes to continue that work.

Open-time and a JA ban will mean $hit when they furlough. They will continue to load up the VTO lines and yes, use the "other airline" to cover what's left. If you guys have not figured that one out yet, please open your eyes.
I agree. I bet you a lot of female pilots on here with kids would take reduced flying. That's not even counting the MEN with kids who have wives with decent jobs. Since I am a mom now, personally, I'd like to see reduced flying lines and/or job sharing be a permanent thing here, not just for furlough prevention. I'm not in the bottom 300, but if we can have people that don't want to work as much be off vs. guys in the bottom 300 working if they want/need to, what's the problem?
300 but why not

What can you say, this job isn't for everybody.

Guys/Gals,

Please stop the internal bickering over public forums. Have the courage to air your opinion on the union website. No one can predict the economy or what will happen here next. Do your job to the best of your abilities and and enjoy what you have now. Regardless of what comes next, this is still the desire destination for many in our profession. Let's not make it worse than what it is.

Also bottom 300.

Cactus I agree perhaps I overstated that comment, we are still working for about 2/3s pay compared to the legacies prebankruptcy contracts. My point was that many of those old dudes did alot of work to improve things.

If you compare the average pay at UPS/FDX to the average pay in the prebankruptcy legacies, I'd bet it is pretty close to even.

How do you figure 2/3 pay? What criteria did you use to arrive at that number?

I believe he is referring to the $350 an hour some guys were making. I understand our same pay for fleet deal makes things very different and much more difficult to compute.

Is a question like that is allowed on a pilot forum?
