What's that line the over 60 crowd love to use??....isn't it... "Oh your job is save!" ??

Not bitter...not bitter at all...but couldn't help it when the over 60 crowd is trying to educate us about why we're getting furloughed. (hint: it's the economy)
FWIW, I totally understand how one would be "bitter" about getting furloughed when we do in fact have crewmembers past the age of 60 that were allowed to return to their seats while airlines that had no F/E seats didn't have this unique situation. Believe it or not, you have my deepest sympathies. There are a lot of circumstances that happen to all of us during our careers, you are not alone in that.

Yeah, I'm sure your heart is breaking. Just don't touch the contract! We get it!
Junior IPA pilots are going to take it up the rear so the old crusties can fly to Asia a few more times.

Only 100 huh? Tell that to the guys hitting the street soon. Oh well, you won't have to worry about it though. It's not like you have small children to feed like they do. Just so you and the rest of the old crusties can fly to Asia a few more times.

Agree it's about saving a job. But these people get no thanks from me for the "efforts".

wake up!
So you're not going to thank anybody senior to you for trying to do what it takes to save your job? Are you serious? These over 60 guys are part of the reason this job is what it is today. Your sense of entitlement is astonishing. I say don't let the door hit you in the a$$ on your way out. Maybe I'll just pickup a few OT trips and JA's in your honor to help expidite your demise. It's a good thing you are in the minority as far as your attitude is concerned cause if you were the majority, I'd take great pleasure in seeing your a$$ thrown out the door. And no I'm not over 60. I'm 1989 hire who's well under 60.

Yeah, and I'm sure they'll hoist a few cold ones in your honor at their favorite watering hole as they recite your post here.

Why don't you direct your anger where it really belongs- AT UPS!!

wow...easy there tiger...

you sound tough. and am a bit scared.

and by the way...I am taking a leave of absence starting July, for 2 years. Just to get away from this place!

No need to throw me out...but thanks for the offer though!! There is a point when one is just simply sick of getting ****(and we are expected to say THANK YOU???)....The backward movement started just after 2 months with the company and hasn't stopped. Now a "threat" of furlough..I am surprised there's not more taking this opportunity to do something better. (as in outside aviation).

GOOD LUCK TO YA!!!

I can see the arrogance in your attitude with that avatar. Get off your high horse!

Wow, I thought most of those old guys worked hard on making this place a job people wanted to come to. I certainly don't blame them or myself for the drop in flying hours.

I am proud of the fact hundreds of IPA guys have stepped up to help. UPS is in a contract land grab and will hire or layoff as they deem fit.

I would think that having him look back and find that it may not have been necessary to leave or find that those that hung in are getting help from those of us still on the property would be bad enough. I hope he finds what he wants while away.
