Avoiding furlough at UPS slides

Exactly. I have said to my friends that UPS has a potential pr nightmare on their hands. I have been told that there are some advocates amongst the management ranks for our proposal. They are selling it to ATL this week. I still think the response is a toss-up.
I too have yet to hear anyone say the EB needs to stay away. As a bottom 300 guy I truly appreciate their efforts. I also am deeply humbled by the outreach of the members of this union to help me stay employed. My pregnant wife appreciates it .

For the most part, UPS workers are some of the highest paid in their industries ... so I wouldn't expect much sympathy from the outside sectors.
IMHO ...

I understand sympathy falls between syphilis and sh&t in the dictionary.
UPS may not care but they do NOT like negative press either way. "UPS lays off workers even though they took wage and work concessions to avoid layoffs." I don't think that is the headline they want to see. Just my 2 cents.

Yes, the economy.
but 200 guys getting a window seat didn't help. did it?
There wouldn't be a hint of the 'F' word at UPS if it wasn't for the FEs coming back...I don't care what the economy is doing!

Those two hundred guys had a senioity number higher than yours, just as do the pilots who decided to not go to the ANC dom.
Your key board courage is amazing , why don't you take a little trip over to the B&G and post your opinions.

yes, their seniority is higher, but didn't they retire from the front seat? how many chances should I person get?

Your logic is a bit flawed. They never "retired". However if you like, we can pass the hat for you or take a poll and see how many would be willing to give up their seniority so that you can become senior. Would that make your whiny ass happy?
