If their FE writtens were good the day they started at FedEx they are still good as long as they work continuously at FedEx or a 121/135 carrier.

FedEx wouldn't acknowledge that clause for new hires, I wonder if they will for our own guys. Seems like the very least they could do to somewhat limit the pain of the training process.

Then again, they don't call it the Boeing Bootcamp for nothing, so if I were them I'd plan on taking the written again.

As far as Captains bidding anything on this bid; only the 727 Captains can bid anything. There are no excesses for any other Captains listed. So the Captains are stuck where they are for now. Can't go anywhere even if they wanted to.

Yep. I flew with a SO who had been recently excessed from 727 FO. He had been hired into the right seat. He did not have to retake the FE written. FedEx got a waiver to extend the written test results. It's in the FARs somewhere.

At least we've got that going for us.

I feel for some of the ANC FO's who are going to have to retake the FE written before they go to training.

All I know about this is a bud of mine who was a fairly senior 10 FO originally had an Aug 09 class for the 11 and has moved up on every new training letter since then. He now goes in May. Don't count on sitting home for a year, collecting dough for scratching your rear.

I think their dates are off somewhat. Today is Wednesday, 1 April. That would make 2 days from now the 3rd, right? the next 2 Wednesdays would be the 8th and 15th. I'm guessing we'll see a corrected FCIF shortly...
FCIF now reads practices are on Monday April 6 and 13 and closes on Thursday April 16 at 1400z

The capt was my example, but I know of more than one FO who is limbo right now. I have a roomie who is APR 2011 for a training date.

interesting.

That leads me to interpret the current training letters as FUBAR.

Expect to see significant changes, IMHO.
