CC,

I think you are right, enough so that I think our position in all this is near levee #1 a couple of feet above the banks of the sh@t river. Thank goodness there is a SMarty running around up north to keep it all figured out. I have a new nomination for manglement, and it's not you

CC,

I do, and I'll admit- I'm new to this 121 stuff, but am impressed at how this stuff illuminates character, good and bad. Wow. I mean, aside from my personal feelings (in the bottom 200), it looks like money beats integrity 2 to one. I'm freshly divorced, so I'm stocking up on a healthy dose of the latter, since I only have a fraction of the former.

Maybe I learned something in the military, or perhaps I am just a lemming; either way, I'll never cross my brothers WRT this crap; I'll go to the street before I become a crack *****. Anyone seen my spoon?

100% IPA and starting to learn what unions are all about.....

I think the union should come up with a dollar amount that we are saving the company by being flexible on the contract versus making them follow it and subtract that amount from the bogus $54 million they are extorting from us. I have no idea how much the pilot group being flexible may save them but since this could last a few months the cost savings could be considerable.

I really wish we could follow Roberto's idea but I dont think we work for a company that will appreciate it to the point of not furloughing 100+ plus pilots in order to save a buck....

I like the spoon<g> The 'history' thread is accurate on the BG.
Anyway, The supermajority of us think like you do wrt crossing their buds.
Have witnessed it before several times. just sorry you have to experience it, but every 6 years we seem to go through this gyration. (teamsters 97, Furlough 2003 and furlough 2009)
Know you can hang tough with the 97%.

Salty,

I dig it; I think I can see the 97%. But FWIW, I think that number is more like 100% in the bottom 300. And this, I feel, is NOT a function of potential (likely) loss of income. I am hearing my buds (who will foreclose and go bankrupt if we furlough) as the loudest supporters of the NO CONCESSION angle. I am impressed by the mettle that surrounds me, +/-100 or so. It fills me with pride. If I end up on the street, I will be proud of my cardboard box.

Hence the name. It's because we've all been through this numerous times before and we know how it turns out. pay cuts, downgrades, lack of "quality of life", family disruptions etc. etc.etc. We left legacy carriers in hopes of a future. Let's not kill our dreams by caving on the contract!! USAirways and United (ALPA) should have drew a line in the sand back in 2003. If they did, we would not be in this mess today.

The bottom 300 at Brown are screwed. We have senior Captains personally calling crewmembers to help the compay out, I don't get it! They showed their true colors, for them it is all about the $$ nothing else. If you think there is unity here you are a FOOL.
