So, you just conjured up the idea of such a merger and asked if there were any new rumors when there is zero basis in reality? That sure is a strange general question.

Any new rumors on a Wendy's/Burger King merger?

Something like that? Just asking, uhm, Toilet......just asking.

I got my numbers off the the master list on the flight ops page, but it may not have been updated. Bottom line is that people who thought they caught a break at WO are now trying to figure out how to feed their families.

Now that I think about it I believe the class in Oct did only have 23 so that would make more sense. 20 of which were from gemini.

There were 20 Gemini MD-11 F/O's and 3 DC-10 F/O's in the Oct Indoc class.

So have you guys instituted some sort of "open time ban" at World?

Our contract only allows the pilots to be capped at 95 hours of pay. We do have a volunteer system that is uneffected except by the 95 hour limit.

Wow, only 95 hours of pay. How can anybody live on that? So is there any sort of "unofficial" volunteer ban or are guys just going to keep picking up time? How is your solidarity?

A number of guys have already posted on the union BB that they will not pick up open time or volunteer days off (and at least one guy has already called the company and rescinded his volunteer days).

Obviously the union cannot make any statements against picking up open time as this would be an illegal job action. The 95 hour thing is a hard limit in the contract when pilots are on the street. It is better than nothing since our volunteering language allows for some much larger paychecks for guys who want to go down to the minimum 6 days off (over 120 hours is fairly easy to do!)

Given that this was just announced I would say that every DC10 guy I have spoken to so far has said no more open time/ volunteer days, but we won't know until next month how the solidarity is - I do expect it to be strong.

(Also the furloughs appear to be the 4 DC10 FO's from the 9/10/08 class and 3 DC10 FO's and 16MD11 FO's from the 10/15/08 class, based on the latest seniority list.)
