FDX--- Excess Practice #2 No Good -- ReDo
#22
I thought I'd add my 2- Yen's worth.
The re-do practice bid which was disseminated today, Friday 13FEB, is also inaccurate. After the latest posting, I have been awarded a position that is not reflected in my standing bid. To no avail, I have attempted to call an ACP and they all are avoiding calls.
No doubt that the office is empty on a Friday afternoon, and the weekend is upon us. Next recourse is to call D.O. in order to examine options due to faulty programming.
This is not rocket science. Time to push back.
Still lurking, almost...

You are correct, I forgot that the first practice was run very early. A 1000 apologies. As such, once the 'site monitors' notice us talking about it they will ensure that it's up by midnight in either it's updated form or the one that was on the website most of the day.

Expect this bid to be canceled as well. In my prior life, I did a fair amount of computer work, and there are some applications where a computer will not be able to find a solution. This is one of them. I will give an example. Lets say pilot A is a M30F and he bids to relieve M30C at exactly 80%. He holds M30C at exactly 80%, but now Pilot B is a M30C at the bottom and he is now excessed to something else, guess what after he is excessed from the bottom pilot B no longer holds his position at 80%, so his bid to relieve should be canceled but yet he does hold it at 80% when pilot B returns. Now let everyone's decision to bid to relieve directly affect everyone elses decision. Ie one senior guy changes his decision and this could change everyone elses bid award below him. The only way to fix it would only allow bid to relieve at 100% or get rid of those pesky -1's. If they get rid of the -1 ones and have multiple bids, this would not allow a flush and would probably accomplish nothing. IE turn the computer off it is only spitting our garbage.

To add to what Albie said, how exactly is reissuing the practice buying them any time? The bid is still scheduled to close Monday as the contractual practice bid requirement and timeframe were met with the first bid. As many others have pointed out, they can run practice bids for themselves at any time, so it's not like they're gaining some advantage by re-running the snapshots in time they give us.
and 3 days prior to the closing of any posting for permanent crew position
excesses or vacancies. The results of a practice bid(s) shall be
communicated to pilots through Company E-Mail.
e. A posting may not be amended after it is published. The Company may,
however, cancel any posting prior to its closing.
Since the first practice bid closed on March 5th and that IS NOT between 7 and 3 days of the close date of March 16th, and the second practice bid is delayed into the weekend, again not falling between 7 and 3 days before the close of the bid...the bid will be DELAYED. That BUYS THE COMPANY TIME.
