Exactly, here we go again. I think it is sinking in and the realization of having to explain the "Hundred Billion dollars" on training and relocation to Mr. Smith might have a few management types on edge. Oh, and HKG FO is still not flilled...

Uh, was there a virus thrown in between practice 1 and 2? If it's the same computer software that ran #1, how can there be a screw up on #2? All the parameters should have stayed the same, just some of the data might have changed.

I know for a FACT that before when a bid was "cancelled due to software issues" it was BS. They cancelled it to buy time. This is no different. THIS IS A JOKE.

I agree with everyone here, this place has gone down hill since PC took charge. I am one of the ones who will have to down grade to the right seat and I will go quietly if PC goes too!!!!!!!

I understand your frustration, but I ended up on the ANC list when I should not have. The percentage bidding didn't work. I was willing to go to ANC at a higher percentage, but ended up there much lower than I was willing to accept. There was obviously some kind of issue....

To add to what Albie said, how exactly is reissuing the practice buying them any time? The bid is still scheduled to close Monday as the contractual practice bid requirement and timeframe were met with the first bid. As many others have pointed out, they can run practice bids for themselves at any time, so it's not like they're gaining some advantage by re-running the snapshots in time they give us.

Something was definitely wrong with the 2nd practice bid. I had ANC @80% and should have held it somewhere in the 60% group but they somehow had me going to Memfo. Now, was the software screw up intentional.... that is another question entirely.

I am not sure why the computer (or programmers) can't do it right but for me personally I should have been awarded a different base based on my input percentage but I wasn't. Instead, the second practice bid still had me in the same base I am now which was incorrect.

FWIW...

Expect this bid to be canceled as well. In my prior life, I did a fair amount of computer work, and there are some applications where a computer will not be able to find a solution. This is one of them. I will give an example. Lets say pilot A is a M30F and he bids to relieve M30C at exactly 80%. He holds M30C at exactly 80%, but now Pilot B is a M30C at the bottom and he is now excessed to something else, guess what after he is excessed from the bottom pilot B no longer holds his position at 80%, so his bid to relieve should be canceled but yet he does hold it at 80% when pilot B returns. Now let everyone's decision to bid to relieve directly affect everyone elses decision. Ie one senior guy changes his decision and this could change everyone elses bid award below him. The only way to fix it would only allow bid to relieve at 100% or get rid of those pesky -1's. If they get rid of the -1 ones and have multiple bids, this would not allow a flush and would probably accomplish nothing. IE turn the computer off it is only spitting our garbage.
