As far as contacting my ACP, I have had a certain non member Capt ("THKS ALPA" license plate on his Corvette) try and get 2 guys fired I know by going to management with BS stuff and do not believe that is the way to go. I did call Pro Standards (which is where I think union members should try and resolve issues) and not long after that this guy started hiding his calendar. Why was that I wonder? Anyway, my point was that the BOT blockers have not stopped the same pilots getting these cherry extra trips over and over. It may have even made it easier for them.
Nothing that ML does would surprise me and I can now agree that going to flt management is probably useless. Now that I think about it a bit more, I imagine that once again the company is laughing its ... off as crewmembers continue to boof each other!!!!!! You are right, the Captcha code just further unleveled the playing field for those BOT nerds. Must be loving the divisiveness of this issue and clearly they wont do anything about it!!! I can't wait till I get one of these hosers in my right seat!!!!!!!

Next time the code comes up, go to your menu bar in your browser, click on VIEW and then VIEW SOURCE (FIREFOX) or SOURCE (IE). You can scroll down to the HTML code that lists the .gif files for each individual digit. As has been pointed out, the .gif files don't change, so all the smart guys have to do is have their script recognize the name of the file and then input the correct digits into the window.

It is simple for those that want to write a script for it.

BTW, I don't do this, never cared that much about hawking open time, but I can figure out how they do it.

As far as management caring about this; I believe that as long as their servers aren't being bombarded, they really don't give two ..... about who gets the trip. The just want it flown.

The .gif files have different names everytime you refresh. Not saying it impossible for the bots to keep working, but the workaround you offer won't work.

Well as interesting as that was to view the "source code" I have no idea what I was looking at. It was like looking at the Matrix. I'm sure that makes sense to some of you guys but if you know what all that means you are a better man than I.

Not to spread to much rumor or digress from the thread, but from talking to one of the IT's in the hub, the whole bot blocker thing is not so much an open time thing. It is more of a malicious code type thing. The bots were logged in to the computer and blocking others from picking up trips while someone was taking what they wanted. It ran interferrence for the user to get what they wanted, not pick up in lieu of, more of a server intrusion issue.

^^^^^^
That's the jist that I got too. The bots were effectively "****-blocking" the rest of us FROM EVEN GETTING TO open time while the blockers went in, cherry picked all sorts of trips with independent time stamps, and then submitted the trips and/or trip trades. Then they would remove the blocker and the rest of us would go in, ask for the same trips, and then get denied for "earlier time stamp."

If this is true then we non-bots need to up the ante and pursue this through the union/company. When the bots start screwing with our collective quality of life then something official MUST happen.

wouldn't be so quick to admire them (if true).

denial of service attacks on computer systems in the US is illegal. if caught, it wouldn't just be the union or the company spanking these guys.

quite possibly, they could be criminally prosecuted under federal computer crime laws.

(google - denial of service attack and/or computer crime, or wiki those)

If true, giving your password to someone else is something you could get canned for, or so I have been told.

Come to think of it, you could say, "A train ran over my wife."
