And if they list HKG Capt as first choice they might be going to HKG FO with HKG Capt Passover pay

I don't see that happening (union), but if it did I wouldn't really care, as long as I was getting the pay.

The only good part of the crappy LOA is that if you don't want to go, you simply don't sign the letter. So if you bid CA hoping to get passover and they decide to try to send you as an FO (and you don't want to) you simply decline to sign.

A lot of this could have been avoided had we been collectively strong enough to not have voted for such a steaming pile of dung (LOA).

Master of the Obvious

I'm just wondering what the statute of limitations is for comments like this - is anyone on here but me sick to death of hearing this?

Nothing personal "FXDX" (you're just the one today that happened to make this comment) - but this dead horse has been beaten, re-beaten, kicked, and beaten again, and again, and again, and again on this forum.

Yes.....a lot of this coulda been avoided IF......but IF didn't happen.....isn't gonna happen......never will happen......

blame me personally - I voted yes.

But, can we please move on and continue trying to make positive comments that are constructive to helping folks deal with the CURRENT situation that they (we) might be able to do something (bid properly) about to work through it - together.

Come up with plausible ideas/options/suggestions to help people try to decide what's best for themselves, their families, their future?

It's just really sickeningly old to keep hearing the "woulda, coulda, shoulda" over and over and over and over and over again.......

Thanks in advance.

Rant over.

Flame away.

Forgive me for reminding us why they can't fill HKG, and that filling HKG is partly the objective of the excess bid that is open right now.

My bad.

Of course due to the fact that HKG is so junior, it will make furloughing a LOT harder for the company. You'd loose more than half the base if they drop the "700" we're overmanned. HKG SIBA gets very expensive....

Not forgiven.

That's my point.

Is there anyone who posts on or reads this forum on a regular basis that still needs to be reminded WHY THEY CAN'T FILL HKG????

NO!

Why do you (or anyone else) feel you need to keep reminding everyone?

What purpose does it serve? Do you think someone is going to forget?

Oh - sheite!! Thanks for reminding me! I almost forgot that the reason the company can't fill HKG is 'cause we voted in a piece of sheite LOA. whew! Thanks for keeping THAT on the front burner for me - without your reminder I would have completely forgotten about that!!

It's old.

LET......IT.......GO.........MOVE.......ON........ TO.......MORE.......CONSTRUCTIVE.......COMMENTS... ....ALREADY.

sheesh.

If they put Captains over there with passover pay into the right seats they can furlough all day long and not create a problem with manning in that base. So I'd beware of bidding that if you can't actually go there. I guess if you fail to sign the letter then you can get out of it, (there is that note when you bid it though that says you are willing to sign the letter.) Not so sure what actual significance that has on signing the letter for real though.

$.02 is not worth much I know...

I don't see the F/O seat getting much more senior accept for maybe excessed guys pushed out the bottom of their current seats. The good news is they can bid HKG Capt and possibly get POP while flying in the right seat. They can not force a guy on POP for capt to go in the right seat. There is no penalty for not signing the letter; unless they make it part of the compromise.

The one thing I got out of our union comm this week is to make these bids as expensive as possible to fred. It is our only leverage. One way to make it expensive is to force a whole lot of passover pay. But I aint bidding it.
