UPS F/Es won't leave
Why do so many of you think that the age 60+ backseaters will jump ship with a new contract? A new F/E pay scale with increased vacations will outearn a $40000 retirement by a hundred thou. You all are delusional if you think all the old foggies will leave.
Less than 25% will leave when a contract is voted in, wanna bet?

I agree with you. All the senior FE's (at least on the 727) get the sweet lines where you fly 8-10 days a month. Why the heck would you leave making a hundred thou and only working 8-10 days a month? Plus you have what, 3 or 4 weeks vacation, sick buy back, etc. I don't really think a lot will leave either.

Speaking of toxic spills, ABX had a large mercury spill Frilday night in ILN. Two 767s are still out of service being decontaminated.

At approximately 5 p.m. today, NMB Senior mediator Linda Puchala decided against scheduling further contract negotiations between IPA and UPS. After spending the better part of one full day with all members of the IPA Negotiation Committee and Executive board, Puchala has concluded that the Association is not prepared to resume bargaining at this time.
