What injustice? How many days on average have you actually been required to show up to work in the last 6 months? Talk about crying a river...
And a Reserve Pilot is "not working" on an R day only if he lives in Memphis, and then is still restricted on whereabouts and activities. As for 1 in 7, a large percentage of Reserve lines are built with short enough stretches of R days to eliminate the 1 in 7 R-day drop.
As for wrong targets, I like flexes, have quite a few friends who have been or currently are flexes, and have worked in training. Don't try to blow sunshine up my A^^ about how overworked you are. I know that I have had sims rescheduled because someone (and not the pilot who bid a late morning sim, based on seniority) had a golf tee time, and had to be out of the box by 11 so he could get to the course (or shooting range on another recurrent.) Sounds like a tough day to me. And last, but not least, you are not doing it for RLG, but for Pay-only BLG+override+ possibly POPA.

My availability for 12 hours per work day to go fly a full duty day is considered work. I don't want Flex instructors or reserve pilots to work 19/15 days for less than 85/68 hours of pay. The reserve pilots need a similar deal. We don't need to crap on the flex deal.
I agree and whole heartedly....like I said....I'd gladly stand up and share this precedent with the world...and especially the arbitrator. Mike....gotta admit you sounded defensive....which is why I made the comments I did. It almost feels like you are justifying to yourself why you get that deal and reserves don't. No need to justify....it is the right thing for flexes....and is the right thing for reserves to get as well. I didn't appreciate you explaining why this precedent shouldn't apply to reserves as well. Management doesn't need any help with its rationalization for screwing reserves.

We are all on the same team and like I said: "a rising tide floats all boats"....I also say "Good for you!" and I expect that since we are on the same team, that you would be enthusiastic that we get the R-day value restored.

If we do better, it also means you do too!
