FDX - April BLGs

Why is it that seemingly every other FDX post on here is one crew member pi$$ing down the back of another crew member?? If it is not Flex vs Line Dog, it is Old vs Young, sometimes Senior vs Junior. Almost always though, it is US vs US!
It is to managements great advantage to keep us fighting among ourselves. Remember the old saying, "There is Profit in Choas for those that keep their wits about them". The Company is still making alot of money, just not as much as before. WE are losing our collective arses. Makes you wonder Who is keeping their wits about them and are on the Offense and Who is running scared and very much on the Defense........
Lets make it about US vs THEM and knock off taking drive by shots at one another.
Paddles out......

As you said it comes down to personal decisions, no one makes you commute, bid a seat where you sit reserve or be a flex. Since you are on a crusade to get injustices fixed how about adding this one, If a flex bids a carryover line his or hers c/o gets dropped and just goes away not into their bank. Why should this occur, should they not get to bank it just like any other pilot?
Most of the flex instructors applied for the job after the current contract was ratified. They knew what they were getting themselves into? It's still a good deal if you live in Mempho ... and if you don't, well, you still applied for the job.
For what it's worth, it sounds like maybe Flight Training Management has a certain common sense attitude towards this 4.a.2.b ... who would have thunk it? Thanks Flight Training Managers

No offense but you were stating that things had to be equal but I see now it only applies to one set of guys. You also knew that you would be on reserve if you bid your current seat, correct? For what it is worth I became a instructor to be a good guy and help fellow crew members.
Well, only because you asked ... when I upgraded to Capt at 100%, the retirement age was 60. I would guess all of our over 60 MD-11 Captains are senior to me. If they had retired as scheduled (about 150/yr starting 3 years ago), I wouldn't be on Reserve now, and I have better vacations and better monthly schedules.
So no, I didn't know I'd still be on Reserve ... they changed the rules on me! Good try though

Let's be clear on what we should be p*ssed about... that is the fact that the reserve guys will continue to work the same amount (19/15) for less pay. This is not sharing the pain. If the flex guys are working 17/13 for less pay, that is a step in the right direction and needs to also be afforded to the reserve guys.
I copied my post #14 from this thread because I wanted to emphasize what we should be focussing on. Reserve pilots are still working the same amount of days for less pay. The fact that the Flex instructors are now working fewer days for less pay is the right thing to do. We need the same thing for the reserve pilot. My availability for 12 hours per work day to go fly a full duty day is considered work. I don't want Flex instructors or reserve pilots to work 19/15 days for less than 85/68 hours of pay. The reserve pilots need a similar deal. We don't need to crap on the flex deal.

You're on the hook for 19 days, but even if they worked your butt off, you would be done at 11 days (12 at the very most). Nobody, and I mean nobody, has come close to working this many days on reserve for a very, very long time.
Except the Flex instructors, that is. There you get paid for what your seniority would hold, but work EVERY day of those 19 reserve days. And you want to hate Flex instructors? No my friend, how about Flex intstructors hating YOU for getting basically the same pay, but sitting at home and only working 3 or 4 out of 19 days per month?

Just saying...

No, guys on call are not working. Are you serious about that? Guys in IND hotel stby are working as are the BNA example. Is this like a Jewish Shabbat question as to what constitutes work? Everyone I know who is at home playing with the family on call giggles when they call it work. They acknowledge it for what it is...
