Default hkg house buyout

Anyone read the QA at the end of the FCIF? Sounds like they won't buy your house and give you the 2700 a month allowance if you are excessed to HKG? Am I reading that right?

That is a true statement. That is part of the LOA. I was part of the CDG fiasco and learned that during the process. One or the other, not both....

I asked the union for clarification on this...I don't know if they (FDX) are reaching out on a limb and making policy on their own, or this is locked in stone...I was told in the past I would get both when I looked into it...

Who knows...I think they are posturing on POPA....using this as a tool/wedge/stone/etc.

I all the prep work for Paris, we had to sign and send back to the company which option we were taking. I'm paraphrasing but one option is the house buying deal, the other is the $2700 / month allowance. HKG is no different as in it is an FDA as well...

The way I read the Q & A about buying houses - it only pertains to being excessed to OR bidding to relieve excess to HKG - nowhere else.

They are saying that the Third Party Home Purchase program - available if you are excessed or bid to relieve excess - is NOT available to you if you take the "enhanced" move package to HKG (which includes the $2700/month)

I think they are just clarifying in case people are considering the company purchasing their house option.

If you move to HKG - you can either take the "enhanced" option ($2700/month among other "benefits") OR the Relocation Package #1 (they buy your home) - NOT both.

But......moving from ANC to MEM, or MEM to ANC, or LAX to ANC, or ANC to LAX, or MEM to LAX, or LAX to MEM.....you are still eligible for the home purchase program.

Is that how others are reading that particular Q & A?

Are we eligible for the home purchase program on MEM-LAX or LAX-MEM? Is that accurate?

Yep.....

But to prevent this from becoming an "advice to the lovelorn" column, I again urge you to contact contract enforcement. Everyone knows there will be a lot of questions on this...they are standing by to help and provide info.

Ah, I got it. Don't share information. Every man for himself.

...just don't want to make a promise I can't keep....

(Best example...."OH YEAH, baby! I'm gonna WEAR you out! I gonna do you five times! I'm gonna....gonna....oh yeah........zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"

In other words...I'll let lawyers be lawyers, and porn stars be porn stars....but I'm more than glad to show you where you can find both....

CBA 6.A.2. & 6.A.3. - exesses, or bid to relieve excess = eligible for Relocation Package #1.

CBA 6.B.2. Distance Limitations

(there are other limitations, but this one applies to your question, I believe)

A pilot shall not be entitled to a move package unless:

a. the domicile (or base in the case of an FDA) to which he is moving is more than 50 nautical miles from his current domicile (or base in the case of an FDA); and

b. the permanent residence to which he is moving is more than 50 nautical miles from his current permanent residence; and

c. the domicile (or base in the case of an FDA) to which he is moving is more than 50 nautical miles from his current permanent residence; and

d. the residence to which he is moving is within 100 nautical miles of the domicile (or base in the case of an FDA) to which he is moving; and

e. the residence to which he is moving is in the same country as the base.

YOU HAVE TO ACTUALLY MOVE TO THE NEW DOMICILE = company says this includes relocating your family to the new "permanent residence" - with proof of (not sure what they say constitutes proof of relocating?)

CBA 6.C. Relocation Package #1

11. Third Party Home Purchase Plan
