It never ceases to amaze me. A few guys have the initiative and the desire to run for Union officer. Then they are assassinated before they even get to the meeting.

I don't know this guy from Adam but he had the guts to post his name here on APC. That says something. As for the draft flying there are probably a couple hundred MD11 pilots from MEM an LAX that flew a draft trip in the last 3 weeks, courtesy of Redoubt.

We love to eat our own.

I don't care if he flies draft or not, but I would think it important to attend the MEC meeting if you are running for office.

I don't disagree, but that is his choice not your or mine.

If he isn't in the board room for the vote, it will probably cost him but I t give him point for trying and throwing his name in the ring.

Vote? He's not even going to be there to be interviewed by the MEC. DS is a good guy but he's simply trying to fill a desire by the ANC Mafia to field one of their own.

It's a good thing the MEC officer vote wasn't in February either. DS, our ANC candidate was busy with making 126 CHs and probably would have had a hard time making any meetings that month either (this was before Mt. Redoubt). Wondering if he gets elected if he'll be telling us to "share the pain" and not fly C/O, draft, etc. Wondering what else.........?

Ok, so his pairing is revised and he gets extended in the field and that means he is not a good candidate for the job?

Just a reminder, not specifically targeting DS, you are NOT required to accept an international trip extension beyond 96 hours TAFB! (48 DOM) sorry for the thread creep.

She worked on two committees as a worker bee. My understanding of the R&I committee is that it has vice chairs and TM is not even one of those. He's probably a good guy (I don't think he cares for me much) but he needs experience. If he wants to be an officer, he should run for block rep or communications committee chair and prove his mettle in the public eye. I have enjoyed my retirement from Union leadership and am only re-entering because I see a need. If TM got some experience I would be happy to retreat and he could run next election. These jobs are tough and you can't just walk in from behind the skirts of your committee chairman and run our Union (the VC does run it sometimes). I think that is what WR was trying to say.
That post has "You simply do not understand the complexities of XYZ, so I/we had to vote against your wishes" written all over it!!! I think we the line Pilots at FedEx have had enough of that kind of thinking from our elected leadership.

HIFLYER,

Absolutely, and can I get an 'Amen Brother"............Everyone who reads this board needs to review the incumbant's ALPA campaign messages. Every one resounds with "these guys can't serve because they have never served before, therefore they can't know what is best for you". YGTBSM!!!!!! They trash the other candidates because they "haven't been in the loop'????? Folks , we want the new guys cause they are in OUR loop, the line flyers who know what the hell is going on 'ON THE LINE'. NO INCUMBENTS!!!! 2 months ago I posted a "No Incumbents" post in jest, and to see what the reaction of the readers would be.......well 5 minutes after that post my home phone rang. To my great surprise it was our FDX Sec Treas. His first question was "Greg, what are you doing?" I laughed and said "hey Wes, doesn't my union Sec Treas have more important stuff to do than monitor APC?" The conversation went downhill from there. From that day I have become VERY concerned about my current representation, their methodologies, tactics, courses of action, attitudes, and sense of entitlement. Hell, they voted down taking a comensurate pay reduction in parallel with what the line pilot reduction are during this time of illegal invocation of 4a2b. WTFover??!!! OK, long enough......
