They have to meet with the ipa and to discuss the 90 day furlough period and how to go about it.

One of the places in my past approached the union to furlough out of seniority. Union told them to go pound sand !

They furloughed out of seniority anyway ... fly it and grieve it !

Not saying that's what this meeting is about. Just adding some color comentary to the doom and gloom.

If you paid someone to be a CFI in West Bell, USA, like a SWA/UPS/Fedex crewmember, would bet alot of airline pilots would quit yesterday <bg>
SWA pay?

I predict you will read it here from a receipent of the notice, before UPS tells the union.

I also predict said notices will not go out until sometime after March 31, when all open time is picked up for PP04 & PP05.

No, your message clearly implied to you renewed your CFI in case UPS furloughs you, and I still think that going back to flight instructing while awaiting UPS to call you back is moronic. You may need a psycological exam to see if you are fit to fly if that is your plan for a furlough.

UPS will obviously call you back, so there is no need to build time or stay current. Other jobs will pay you much more than flight instructing also.

I think it's totally brainless of you to renew your CFI in preparation for a furlough from UPS. I'm also skeptical that there just so happened to be FEDEX and SWA people there too. What was it, highest-paid-yet-delusional-airline-pilot day at the FSDO?

I think getting an unemployment check is far more than cfi pay and lot less risk specially flying in those beat up 172's with someone that's trying to kill u everytime. I'll take my unemployment ck and buy some beer and hangout at the beach awaiting a call back that's of course if it happens.
