OK, Man .................. let's be clear about this and without ****ing in the water. There are many of us here that are taking the "pay hit" while others are making out better, JUST BECAUSE THEY CAN. You cannot convince me for one minute, that any of this is FAIR or JUSTIFIED. What we have here right now is effectively an A pay scale and a B pay scale, if this pay irregularity continues.

Carryover in the 11 will never go away. It cost too much money to break up a trip with 3000 to 6000 dollars worth of deadhead tickets. Expect a bid from today (friday the 13th) to end of march. No furloughs yet. Like anybody would know or they would say anything before the letters went out anyway. That is word from last weeks RGS.

Carryover doesn't have to go away. But we can negotiate to minimize its rewards. Just take away priority make up for CIC and leveling for carryover reserve and some of the incentive to puck your buddy will go away. If they want to work 100 hour months make them earn it.

The majority of carryover would disappear (weekend layovers would be the major exception) if the bid month started on Sunday. We gave management the option to do that on the last contract. They didn't do it. It wouldn't cost them anything to do this either, but it would sure help us out right now.

1. A bid period shall be either 4-weeks (28 days) or 5-weeks (35 days) in duration, as determined by the Company and shall be uniform system wide. Bid periods shall begin on Sunday or Monday.
