Default FedEx smoke in DEN

I was landing in DEN tonight...got changed to 34R becasuse a aircraft with "Smoke" in the cockpit. Looks like FedEx...maybe a 727? They had 3 people and 16K on the fuel. The were stopped on 35L when I parked. Hope they are all OK. Any updates?

16K of fuel? That's an emergency in a 747 at any time...

I knew we were in 777 pay negotiations ... I didn't know we'd settled the 747 rates? Haven't seen many charters in open time lately ... seems like something the company would pursue as "overmanned" as management claims we are? Interesting ... I wonder whose 747's are flying with FedEx callsigns?

At least this article says it was a FedEx 727-200 but it also says only the pilot and copilot were aboard? Must be one of those 2 man cockpit 727 conversions? (We used to joke about a 2 man 727 at my previous airline ... Capt and FE only, get rid of the f/o since all he does is turn on the pitot heat anyway)
