will take at least 4 days to figure out exactly what happened.
look up General FCIF 09-0067 if the link doesn't work.

Not sure why kronan thinks it will be at least 4 days ... but nothing on the NTSB website yet (nothing on the NTSB website after 1/24 yet)?

New Information in Fayette County Plane Crash|ABC24-CW30 Eyewitness News | Memphis, TN
While every aviation mishap is investigated, only major accidents get the full NTSB treatment (or those the NTSB deems important enough-JFK Jrs or Cory Lidle's for example).
The plane was reportedly a 1972 Bellanca.
From eyewitness testimony, it seems likely a loss of power resulted in the crash. But, could just as easily have been a stroke and the airplane was fine.

I'm not sure that's correct?
From the NTSB Investigation Guide:
The NTSB investigates and reports on all U.S. air carrier accidents, commuter and air taxi crashes, mid-air collisions, serious mishaps involving public use (government) aircraft and all fatal general aviation accidents.
