Before - pilots typically were paid between 68 and 80 hrs in a 28 day bid month before the cuts. The average 72 +/-2. Depended on seat.
Now - pilots are paid between 58 and 72 hr in a 28 day bid month. The average 64 +/-1.5. Depends on seat.
To convert to a 30 day month, divide the above numbers by .933 (28/30)

Actually, "Rcky," the last guy on our seniority list was hired Jan 14th of 08. That is a bit misleading, though, as "Ricky" and the 9 or 10 before him are internal hires from our Corporate or Training Depts, usually brought on one or two at a time at the end of their "contract" time in those departments. Our last full-size, off the street class was March 19, 2007.

When the perception of a FedEx pilot's pay is 200K a year, it's probably difficult for someone making 35K a year to feel much pity or concern. Sort of like when Fred Smith took a 20% pay cut, how many pilots felt, oh, that poor guy, how's he going to feed his family?

I'd be far more impressed if he took a 20% cut in total compensation...
