Default FDX Cassil & Orlando letter question

Is it just me that is suspicious of the dates and times these letters were sent?

Is it possible that it's a threat to the Mechanics and the up coming I.A.W./Teamsters election that "see what we can do if you belong to a Union."?

I don't ever remember getting a letter like that on X-mas eve and on New Years day.

Just an honest question, nothing more.

Yeah, after the close of business so no one could put in their retirement paperwork and sell back vacation--as if they really want anyone to leave...

I think the timing was based on not wanting an angry workforce during peak.

The question I have - What is next on the timeline?

- Excess bid followed by furlough announcement
- Furlough announcement followed by excess bid
- Lower averages in March based on success of Feb
- Higher averages in March based on problems in Feb
- Nothing, this will take us thru the downturn

Or

- Something completely different

My bet is another excess bid, though smaller so they may not have to cancel it. Followed by reduced BLGs for the long term - at least until the grievance gets settled or we get a new contract. Of course, an even worsening economy could change things.

My guess.

March 09---Excess Bid, big enough to shuffle a lot of the nuggets out of ANC, and the 727 FOs back to the back. Once the 727 FOs getting passover no longer have a standing bid with widebody in their award, I think they lose passover.

April 09---another HKG bid trolling to see how many of the ANC FO will chose HKG over MEM with a huge pay cut. If they then fill HKG then they will slow roll any excess moves until the new HKG FOs start training.

Oct 09---cancel the excess bid. Too bad about the guys that went to HKG.

Jan 10---have a CGN 757 or airbus bid for the new European domicile.

Mar 10---A new HKG mini plus up bid.

May 10---New system bid with movement.

July 10---New hires.

Anyone else....
