I agree... the scenario I discussed earlier was the worst case scenario. Bump and Flush. I'm one of the those S/Os getting POP and trying to activate in my new crew status (57FM) ASAP. If in a subsequent "proposed" excess, I can no longer hold 57 FM or 27FM... when the last guy junior to me "re-activates" (I know the guy) as a 27SM there is no one to trigger the POP.

I just love living on the ragged edge....keeps life interesting

And the correct answer is ... the CBA doesn't say any of the above. 24.D.2.b.ii covers the end of passover pay and it doesn't address what happens with an excess. The only specified criteria are when the senior pilot takes some action (drops training, bids to a different seat, etc.). It is a potential grievance, but not necessarily winnable.

It is not in the CBA because the reason for being eligible for POP goes away. If you are not eligible, then you would not continue to get POP.

Just like if you were getting POP because guys junior to you are HKG Capts and you bid it and start getting the pay. Say, then the company closes HKG and sends all of the pilots home, your POP would stop because you are no longer eligible for it. You won't find that in the CBA either.

Capt. H. Carpenter reiterates to all who will listen (albeit a very small group at this point) "Contract plus 1 day....I don't care what they do with age 60 (5)"
