UPS DC8 displacements?
From our news letter...
I know all over 60 FEs (incl. Roberto ) must be excited because it means they're all moving up to the front seat...
UPS To Realign/Displace Crews
Meeting today with the Association, UPS indicated that a significant shift of crews will be made off the DC-8 to other fleets.
Speaking for the Executive Board, IPA President, Bob Miller said the Company is planning a displacement/realignment bid that could be announced as soon as next week and posted by month’s end.
The Company confirmed that no overall headcount reduction or furlough would take place as part of the coming bid. “The contract requires a minimum of ninety (90) days of prior written notice before any furlough can take place. No notice has been given,” Miller confirmed.
“We may, however, see substantial numbers of crews being taken off the DC-8, and placed on other fleets,” he said. The Association was not given precise numbers because, according to the Company, planning is ongoing and not yet complete.
“As soon as we have hard numbers, we will share them with the pilot group,” Miller added. The Company did confirm that no Article 10 critical position training bid designations will be made as part of the bids.
