FDX-Min Days off & Reality
Hello all,
It was pointed out on a different thread, but I thought this tidbit of reality would help us all keep our emotions in check. Our CBA gives us a minimum of 13 days off per 4-week month, and 16 days off per 5-week month. Using the FEB09 MEM A300 bid pack, there is only ONE line with 13 days off (1056 for CAPT, ABQ). All others have a minimum of 15 days off.
We may be irritated at the current climate, and the inability to spread the pain, understood. However, please keep in mind that most carry-over (domestic) is generally limited to two days. You can tell your futures planner to "protect min days off", but you will still end up flying your new line (which has 15 or more days off) PLUS KEEPING your 2 days of carryover, all the while you still have CBA min days off in the new month. You may be able to bid & put the c/o in conflict, but not everyone can.
I think this point is important to remember, before we start crucifying our own on these public boards. Please keep the big picture in mind before ranting about something beyond our control.
