Early Retirements Anyone ???
Yea, the LOA stuff is very interesting tidbit .................. Why are we not getting any commo. from Company on possible Early Retirements instead of LOA ??? What if the top 700 guys/gals took an early retirement package ? Anyone up there listening ???

Go to the ALPA web site. Select FDX for our MEC home page and up at the top in blue is a link to something like pilot overmanning communications or something like that. Select that link....there a bunch of message lines listed. Don't bother. At the bottom is a link to proposed Letter of Aggrement for pilot reduction. About 5-7 pages of a very well thought out proposal from FE. A little bit of an eye opener in terms of what has been on the table. I don't know if we were offering all or none vs pick and choose but there is some really good stuff. And a few that reach for the stars but "only the meek get pinched". I was very impressed with the package FE was working on, it really validates his vision for where we could have been headed.

JG reiterated at the union meeting on tuesday that the company was not willing to negotiate on any of the furlough mitigation proposals we put forth. Noone seems to know why, they just wouldn't. Next time we talk to the company will be during openers for the next contract.

It seems blatantly obvious to me that if the company would not entertain so much as ONE manning mitigation proposal put forth by ALPA, then the decision to invoke 4a2b rests solely on economic gain through contract abrogation and not manning.

hopefully it will seem just as obvious to an arbitrator...

Just read the latest from JI and scheduling committee. I must say, I don't think I have ever been more in support of our Union than I am now.
I wish I could find my dang lanyard!
Let's back these folks and give them our UNWAVERING support.

That's funny! I did too and I was thinking about starting a thread about this. It's time to put aside everything from the past couple of years, step up to the plate, and show our unity. Lanyards, pins, bag tags...I'm in!
