FDX - LMS Help
I was wondering if any of you tech gurus out there could help me out, as FedEx's help desk can only say, "Those lessons were never meant to be done at home, they should be done in the learning lab."
I am trying to do LMS lessons at home. I have followed the LMS instructions to the letter, and have no problem running the majority of LMS lessons. (I can watch the lady translate the TAF in 10 minutes with no problem.) However, the problems come when trying to view a B757 systems specific file.
The LMS program seems to use ActiveX to install an Aeorsim VFD program; however, that is not what happens on my machine. All I get is a picture of a 757 cockpit, and a message to "select a lesson from the drop down menu" which doesn't exist. And that's it. The help desk says the "Aerosim VFD" should launch, and then just click play. I just can not get that to download/load.
Could someone out there with spare time, try and run this particular lesson to see if it works for you? (Just log in as a Guest/Review)

I am using a PC, I have the screen resolution set to 1280x1024, using Windoz XP, and IE 6.0, and have set all the ActiveX settings according to the website.
If anyone else has run into this problem and has a fix, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Warning...this is a painful process. I did this on Vista SP1, Internet Explorer 7.
Go here:
https://pilot.fedex.com/aotstraining...earLogicBack=1
and click on "3. How to LMS."
Read the directions and comply...
Restart IE7.
Restart LMS.
Open the lesson and wait...it will take about 20-30 minutes for the files to download. They are around 140 MB, 3 MB & 5 MB. When they are downloading it is via the old school DOS interface. Kind of freaky...
After each one is done downloading, they install...this takes a little bit of time. Once all of that is done...a new window opens, but nothing showed up...so, I closed it all and went back to LMS and relaunched the lesson and it worked. The second time I launched, it didn't have to re-download the stuff.
Have fun...

It's much easier to do the 'Company' work on your own time if you're using the
'Company' issued computer. Oh wait, we're doing Company work on our personal computers. Sorry - haven't got a fix for that one.

Matty,
Thanks for the info. I still run into a brick wall, even after an hour of just staring at the cockpit picture.
You said that the files download via the old-school DOS format. Is there a progress bar or something to let you know that it is actually downloading something?
Thanks again.
