FDX - Some positive news! (B-777)
#11
I believe on another thread there were quite a few people here that wanted to give the 777 pay rate the heave ho and make it WB pay. The reason: paraphrasing "Only the senior guys will get it anyway. I don't care if they make it NB pay"
We will continue to see more 777's arrive over the years. The 777 rate needs to be much higher than the current WB rate and we have the leverage with work rules. PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE 777 WORK RULE LOA! (If and when we get one) If you don't fly intl ask the long haul guys what they think and how it could impact pay and scheduling.....
With more 777's coming it looks like it will impact more than just the "senior" guys! And that's a good thing!
Higher Rate for the 777!!!!

Lets see 360 airframes sold to somebody so they can start another freight company. Hey why not call the new start up EXFED.................

That kind of lean forward, aggressive planning is a trademark of your company. It's also part of the reason some of you guys are nervous about a potential furlough now. A fleet of 777s and 757/767 would be smart. Would you guys opt for a single pay scale or stick with what you have now?

As a result of the exercise of the option to purchase the additional 15 B777F aircraft and the rescheduled delivery dates, the net change to FedEx's expected capital expenditures is an increase of approximately $15 million in fiscal 2009 and of approximately $2.75 billion over the following 10 fiscal years.
