Ding Ding Ding
Ya know......
Perhaps this (BLG grab) is another way to cut costs with the added benefit of making a bigger differential in pay between HKG F/O and MEM S/O. It is de-facto added incentive to bid HKG, while not costing the company any money, but in fact, saving them a lot of money.
If anyone else bids HKG on the next vacancy, then it will be "Mission Accomplished" and an appropriate bonus and award will be given for "Byzantine Management Strategy of the Week".
We are beginning to flip light switches waiting for the other shoe to drop. Nothing we can do but support our union and each other. The company wants us in a reactive state, not pro-active which is probably why they rejected all association attempts at furlough mitigation strategy.
The funny thing, is with all the reindeer games (distractions/turmoil) in the last few years, we have had our safest period in a long while....(KNOCK ON WOOD). You would think that would find us remunerated in a positive manner.
We need to quit worrying about what will happen next.....anticipate, mitigate, and support the union....but not worry. In the meantime, spend time with family, support each other......and keep flying safely/professionally when we come to work.
I hope I will see you all at the Joint Council meeting on Tues.

God forbid something does happen, but how would it look in the investigation if there were stress related causes due to current instability in employment and wages?

United won that case because the judge saw the difference between the pilot's historic performance and their recent performance. The judge has forced UAL pilots to pick up time and not call in sick.
I wonder if the same judge can look at my historic BLGs and force FedEx to pay me 75 hours per month.
I'll hold my breath...
