Adding crews to the A300??!!!!! Yeah, we need to do that, I'm getting really tired flying my 10 hours a month on reserve.

I don't believe there will be a furlough. But if I had the opportunity to extend mil orders I would do so.

I think the concept was that the A300 would have more flying than it currently has due to less flying from Ontario in the future (according to Manpower).

Oh, in that case we need more crews on the A300 badly.

Time will tell!
When the first 400-600 UPS pilots got the third week of vacation many years ago (1998?), it caught the company by surprise. At the time we were slightly overstaffed, but when your most senior pilots (mostly Captains) get another week of vacation under our work rules, it put the kibosh on any overstaffed ideas! Over the next two years, the next 600 pilots got the third week also.

During each of the next three years, about 400 pilots on average will get the fourth week of vacation here at UPS. I plan on putting my fourth week to very good use.

The number is a lot great than 400. You have to remeber that 400 are getting a 5th week of vacation for 20 years of service and another 500 are getting a 4th week for ten years of service.

Did you just get your GED? Because I don't know of any High School you could have graduated from. Maybe a KY one, my bad.

Try about 150 getting there 4th week, maybe.

Manpower planning has told me that they think they are fat in ONT and thats the first place they will look at to cut crews. I heard "possibly 14 crews." As you know the plumbers creed: "All crap flows downhill, payday is every other Friday, and dont bite your fingernails!" So plan accordingly. For me, I'm near the bottom of the ONT list so I will be headed to ANC if this comes to pass. Not a big deal, as long as I can extract myself from the CA tax system.

Whatever...

For those interested in facts, a simple scan of the most current seniority list shows the following number of pilots hired by year:

1986-12
1988-464
1989-167
1990-228
1991-105
1992-24
1993-0
1994-319
1995-144
1996-144
1997-84
1998-148
1999-27
2000-184
2001-206
2002-0
2003-0
2004-32
2005-234
2006-169
2007-231

Total-2922

Service Years------------------>Vacation Days
1 through 4-------------------------------->14
5 through 10------------------------------->21
11 through 19------------------------------>28
20 and above------------------------------>35

In 2008 548** crew members accrued an additional week, that's used in 2009
2009 347 additional weeks earned, used in 2010
2010 489 additional weeks earned, used in 2011
2011 458 additional weeks earned, used in 2012
2012 542 additional weeks earned, used in 2013

**These numbers are of course approximate, since there are many reasons a crew member may not be accruing vacation exactly in sync with year of hire....yadda yadda yadda.

These facts come to you from the father of a Kentucky PUBLIC High School educated daughter that scored in the top 1 percent of the nation on standardized tests.

Proves my point Kentucky hillbilly. 1998 was 148 new hires. So they will be getting the Forth week next year. not close to the 500.

Now, since your from KY, are u sure u r the daddy? <G>
