Default Layoffs at UPS

Here they come. I wonder how many more will come after X-mas?

Maybe Biggs is right.

This has already been announced. I don't see anything new. What am I missing?

I am sure "Bigg" mouth will be chiming in soon. Although, since a few people finally voiced their displeasure with him he hasn't spoken.

It is hard to say due to some of the flights that will operate to different cities. Does anyone know if the DFW hot will still exist?

"A total of ten flights are affected with four flights being rerouted and six flights being suspended. UPS officials confirmed with IPA that the sort closures will not, however, result in any aircraft being parked or crewmembers being displaced or furloughed. "

Wow, I must have touched a nerve. Usually means that someone has hit right on the truth.

Now that I have been put in my place, I will turn on the disney channel, play with my train set, and sip on hot chocolate.

P.S. You know nothing about me.

FWIW ... Just in Koln with 2 senior managers I know very well. They are always frank and up front with me and have nailed things on the head in the past. Their cut from a senior level management pilot meeting 2 weeks ago was the position that UPS DOES NOT want to furlough. Granted they don't have a crystal ball into the spring and summer of 09 and beyond but the current stance as of 2 weeks ago was that with military, retirements, current block hours and the cost/benefit of a "short term" furlough, it did not make sense to pull the trigger. Please guys, everyone chill and do their job. Be wise about your outflow right now and sit tight. All this banter does nothing but spool up the indians for no reason. We always complain that UPS runs too lean, maybe this will pay us dividends now.
