Seems so easy, doesn't it. But if it means the company has to spend $100 on a solution, it's wrong.

Restricting us from trading is leveling the playing field? Those words are being spoken from a position of ignorance. You folks need to learn what other airlines, who are usually tight on cash for such projects, are doing. Then get back to us.

Yes, we are way behind the times.....

We should be able to give or take R days from other pilots in any amount, not just for a whole block.

We should be able to post trips up for trade on our website, it would look like open time, not a third party website.

We should be able to trade or pick up at the last minute, like a jumpseater taking your leg cause he lives there and it is a backend DH (and everyone is legal.)

Ironically, many of these CAN all be done for the convenience of Scheduling, or in an emergency, or to cover busy days or bad weather days. But none can be done by us.

Was just on the J/S from MEM - ANC when the F/O called in sick 1+30 prior to push. One of the other jumpseaters called in and scheduling put him on the leg to move the freight.
Great deal and good sense.

Yes, it was a great deal and a smart move. At their initiative and convenience. Never ours.

Agreed. These are bogus. No one seems to care what the local Memphis guy was doing before he shows for a trip. God forbid you should have the audacity to sit on a jumpseat and take a nap on the way to the planet that causes your day to exceed 13+30. The horror.

Not good deal for the F/O they gave a short call out to who showed up at the AOC only to find his ANC trip had been changed to an airport standby.

I was happy to see the ANC F/O get a good deal. A little heads up from the scheduler would have been nice instead of a bunch of ???? on my screen when I bio checked for the trip.

hey, I'm starting to like this new system. I've had 4 trip trades approved in a row. Of course I'm just swapping one bad trip for another. And as Flybyknite mentioned, no bots were harmed in the submissions.

I've heard of trip trades getting approved in about 10secs. Seems like trip trading might have gone real time! Of course, it would be just a another case of taking 2 marbles and giving one back and making us feel good about it!

I am still trying to figure out a previous question. I have emailed my block rep this question, too. So far, I haven't received a response. Where in the contract is there a limit to a number of trip trades, or open time inquires, etc? If the contract doesn't limit it, then why is the Union accepting this new "so-called" policy?

Personally, this is total BS. I don't use a bot, but I sure in the heck make as many manual bid line adjustments I can on Thursday night madness to massage my schedule to my liking. And like someone else mentioned, when moving freight, my wife does it for me. Now I have to worry about some magical number of entries before I get booted? I say no to that! If the company wants to limit us, then they can negotiate it in the next contract and give something up in return!
