Default World Airways Hiring?

Anybody know what's going on with World? The quicktake on APC claims they are hiring. But when you go to the homepage there is no link to submit anything. Anybody on the inside know if they are hiring or looking to cut back like kalitta and the others.
Thanks,
Ski

World is in a wait and see mode. Right now the pool is full but if the Sonair deal goes through (Rumor is it already has), we will be operating two 744's for them and more hiring will follow. But with the current economic climate we could be facing a shortfall next year in business.

Two out of IAH?!?! Both PAX I assume, but why two? See the craziness you miss when off for 32 days!

Cheers,

heard today that one of the DC10 cargo birds is getting parked this month, it's due for C check and supposedly it's not going to happen, the other cargo bird is due next June and might also meet the same fate, we shall see on this. Also a/c 351 (pax dc10) is nearing the end of it's life (cycles) and will be parked and used for parts early next year.

So with the 2-3 10's being parked are they being replaced by the gemini birds. Or is this a small downsizing.

Keep in mind bro its just a rumor. Right now staffing on the DC-10's is not near enough for the acft we are operating. I asked one of the company managers about the possibility of buying Gemini's 10's a few months back, he dodged any answer by saying they were tied up in court. Last word I got was Arrow Air had taken possession of Gemini's birds. We got the MD11's from Gemini.

Arrow is also owned by Matlin Patterson but not under the GAL umbrella...yet.

Hey Dutch,

What is the latest with who owns which airlines ? Any talk how the next administration will affect the military charters ?

A pm is fine, here or FB.

TTYL,

p.s. I'm in Almaty, and "No", no one speaks English...but the vodka is cheap.
