FDX - 777 practice is out.

Nagatory big fella! They weren't excessed to HKG because it's not allowed. Remember the 2 practice excess bids? How many junior guys were excessed to fill the HKG F/O slots? That's right, none. The guys excessed out of SFS went elsewhere if they didn't have HKG on their standing bid. HKG F/O manning wouldn't be an issue if excessing to a FDA was allowed.

I think we both agree. The point that I was making is that they were excessed "out" of their subic spot. No one is excessed into a spot, only out of their current spot. They choose which spot they will move to, but are not excessed into it. They chose HKG, by putting it in their standing bid. If there was not an opening in HKG, they would not have gone there, because you cannot cause an excess by moving into an FDA. If they put HKG in front of their current seat award, then they are said to have "bid to relieve the excess" (Subic). If they put HKG after their current seat award, then they are said to have been "excessed" out of Subic.
I only jumped into this discussion because you stated:
"Don't think you can be excessed to a FDA. So....all the HKG pilots from SFS bid to relieve excess. They will have to pitch in with the difference."
They were not excessed into an FDA, they were excessed out of Subic. Whether they bid to reieve the Subic excess, or did not bid to relieve the Subic excess is not known. It could have been either. It just depends on where they put HKG on their standing bid, and if there had not have been an opening in HKG at the time, then they would not have been awarded it, little fella.

As stated before, all the HKG Capts were awarded primary vacancies on postings 7-03 and 8-01. The 6 who bid the 777 were not "excessed" out of, nor into anywhere and are subject to any restrictions associated with their move to the FDA. Dat's whot um sayin'!
