The process works. Now it's up to the rest of us to rally behind our new Negotiating Committee Chairman - and the staff he picks to formulate and negotiate our next CBA. I'm sure we'll be asked what our priorities for the next CBA will be - and with 4500+ crew members, I suspect there will be about that many ideas. What's good for some won't necessarily be first choices for others. My recommendation would be - write your LEC rep, write the NC Chairman, and take a pro-active roll in the negotiating of this collective bargaining agreement. First though, take some time on your next trip and read the CBA you have now. Highlight what you DON'T like. Trust me, this isn't a 'Steven Ambrose' novel, so make it a long trip when you try this. But, the more you know about what controls your life now, the better prepared you'll be to make a decision on what will control your life with the next CBA.
We all have a college degree. We all have interests and talents. If you're called upon to participate - even if it's only an idea - I suggest you step up. When the Company knows our new chairman has us, the 4,500+ crew members behind him, his job becomes infinitely easier. He's got my support.

We will have to wait and see.

Our union leadership has made it real easy to be cynical when they pick folks for leadership positions by reshuffling the deck. I just don't think anything will change until the top 3 go back to flying for a living and we get new blood. We have no choice but to give JG a fair chance but we all know who's calling the shots.

He was Vice Chairman of the NC (2000-2007) during the BC years which included the CBA and LOA, is that what you mean? You say he's a great guy, fair enough, but how do we know where he stands by looking at his background? Just tell me he's not DW's lap dog and I'll gladly fall in behind him.
