Wow.
That was almost 5 unified posts in a row.
Maybe we can start thinking collectively again.

I'm not blindly following anyone,
unless Albie tells me too

oh what the hell, seemed like a good letter to me,
guess he speaks for me too

As my mother used to say: "Talk is cheap." My point is that we need to wait and see how this new negotiating committee does. I think we should all assume that they are there to better the working conditions, pay, retirement, etc, etc, for all crewmembers, and give them our support, until such time as they show us differently.

Just my take, but on this one thread alone there has been a huge variance in feelings, based on (at first) nothing but testimonials and unsupported opinions, and now, based on one email, feelings at the exact opposite end of the scale. Maybe we should just give these guys some time to do well. And let's not forget that they are looking for input, so for you guys who have problems with everything that's going on here, be sure to make them aware of problems that they might actually have some control over or influence on.

I can't stand people who post opinions on blogs either.

Maybe just maybe some questions and comments here encouraged a response from the new chair. If that was the case I say good job APC.

JJ, you nailed it this time. He's "talking the talk" and deserves a chance to "walk the walk". History does not bode well for us or him but I've got my fingers crossed.

Coach speaking to team, "Boys...We're up 13-7, they're on our 1 yard line, with 3 seconds to go. Can we hold 'em? I said, CAN WE HOLD "EM?!?"

Faint voice from the rear of the huddle, "Coach? Your hearth in the right playth...But you're pithing in the wind on thith thtopping them thing."

C'mon, dude, ...Man up!!

I am all for it personally and you don't have to worry about me "manning up". I just don't think it is "the big issue" for a lot of people since a large portion of the pilot group will chose to stay past 60. Especially true if economy does not make a 180 in the next ten years or so. 401k's are not quite as fat as they used to be, real estate is in the tank...The company is going to take it to the mat and without overwhelming support (ie. the majority of us wanting to go at 60) I just don't think it will happen. If it happens great but at this point I will be happy with a decent pay raise and don't give anything back to the company that we have right now. There is a fair chance that we would not have to worry about this whole issue if our union would have taken a hard stand against age 60 in the first place. Instead they embraced it even though the majority was against it. If they rolled over on this how much support for a non-compromise on our current retirement do you honestly think we are going to get? It is possible and I am all for it but expect to give a whole bunch of stuff away to make it happen. By the way after our performance recently on the LOA and age 60 I would say to look at the scoreboard, we are down not ahead 13 to 7 coach.
