Not true ... it ONLY applies to folk who were 53 or older when the current contract was signed (those who had retired or would retire under the existing contract).
This was another of BC's opportunities to take care of BC!*? In fact, at one of the union contract "road shows" I asked BC if I understood this section correctly? I told him it looked to me like I (and my under 53y/o peers) was being "hung out to dry," to negotiate our own future benefits at a future date????
He said, "I think you understand the section correctly."
