For goodness sake, we have NOT been in a recession for 12 months. I don't know where some of these "experts" went to school but they are simply WRONG. Look up the definition....please.

Lekites and Barr talking about "the state of the airline"??? I am not sure I really like the sound of that! Maybe BM and the EB should attend this fuction? I wish I was attending, as I have many questions to ask but I am currently on a trip! Can someone (I nominate Filfast, Archie, Salty or Sideshow to attend) who can make it take good notes and share it with the rest of us poor sapps?

The meeting will be about how UPS is closing its airline and selling its planes! Yangtze River Express will be the new contractor for all our lift. This will happen until we can get our UAV fleet up to speed.

This is what I heard from Biggs Yes he was on the Jumpseat!

Oh yeah. The ANC domicile will be closed effective immediately!!

So after re-reading this invitation what jumps out at me is this thing is promoted as an IPA and UPS meeting! My next question is what I asked before, where is BM and the EB? I think not only they should be on hand but BM is the one that needs to be asking the questions that many of the junior folks are concerned with! Its becoming obvious that unless your in the bottom 300-400 on property, no one else really cares about our concerns! Just my thoughts!

Over on the bar and grill our VP just said the following:
Anchorage Pilot Communication Meeting

"The Anchorage Chief Pilot's office and the Independent Pilot's
Association would like to invite you to attend a continental breakfast
followed by a question and answer meeting on the state of the airline."

Although the official press release mentions IPA involvement, the IPA
Executive Board first learned of this event Wednesday afternoon. We
were not aware "IPA" was being included in the press release and there
will be no formal "IPA presentation". The Company has given us no indication
of what will be presented.

The IPA Executive Board will participate with the Company on issues
related to Anchorage Flight Safety, but this obviously falls outside
of the scope of safety.
