Funny stuff!
He's working for Barney Frank, explaining that male prostitution ring run out of his Georgetown condo. He wasn't there, he didn't know about it, they were just friends, you have him confused with Elmer Fudd....etc

No matter how you spell it communication was accomplished. I grew up with an English teacher Mom and a college professor Dad and I can't spell worth a sheit, but I always seemed to communicate with them. This guy might not be a wrong as we'd hope.

One thing is for sure, something is about to happen, and we are not going to like it.
We have a crazy habit of eating our own in this business. This is going to be a divisive event. Lots of pilots with get the blame (old guys, Mgmt, the guy sitting next to you), but if the economy was good times would be good. Like the rest of the country, all will have to cut back, some my lose stuff, and a few may lose jobs (I'm hoping that DHLs misfortune will save jobs).
But, a lot of guys will want to place blame and point fingers when we should stick together (LIKE NOT FLYING A MINUTE EXTRA if guys are on the street).

Happy Thanksgiving and lets hope it's a Happy New Year!

If you are stuck in Memphis without family come to Harrah's in Tunica for the Paula Dean Buffet today. Food, booze and Football!

He works part time for al-Jazeera and al-Arabiya as a consultant on Iraqi affairs (no joke, read about it on BBC news a while back)

Could have stopped right there. It says it all.

I hope DW at FDX can hold true to his promise of sharing the pain. Many folks with access to him do not want to.

As far as finger pointing, choosing unity, and all that stick together stuff...We'll have to wait to see our Union response in January. It will require a stance worthy of that unity, not just another "crazy choice to eat our own".

Our biggest test yet as a unified group is coming up fast.

Reserve carryover my fat friend, I've been assigned one (one day) trip this month. If you want to work more and make less that is you prerogative.
But, if one guy hits the streets you won't see one second of extra of any kind on my schedule.... or yours. And I'm no where near 300K as you know.

Enjoy your day with Management!

I am not saying he is wrong nor do I care about is spelling. It's just that when I see somebody with a whopping 7 posts to their credit post a rumor and then refuse to name a source, I tend to question it.

FWIW, I had a bud attend the last LEC 79 meeting. He said WR addressed the "DW is going to sell out the junior guys" rumor. Not true, he said.

Bottom line is this: We tend to frame these discussions in terms of our own desires and opinions. Manning issues are not decided by DW and ALPA. Flight management is "the Decider", and they will make their decissions based on what is best for the FedEx; not an old guy trying to get his high 5 or a junior guy keeping his seat or job.

Also, FWIW, I think something is gonig to happen in early '09, too.

BG, MD standards, said at RGS two weeks ago that there would be no furlough, and that we "can stop talking about it." Either he's telling the truth or he's a liar. FWIW. I also don't think there will be a furlough. Another excess, sure. I've also heard from two different MEC reps that DW is the biggest proponent of the junior guys on property when it comes to the furlough discussions. Not a big DW fan, but I appreciate his sentiments on this matter.

I think our biggest test, at least since I have been here, was the LOA and 777 stuff. Maybe what is coming up will be bigger. We will see. But as far as leverage goes and the chance for unity, I think we really blew it with the LOA and just might with the 777.

We had nothing to lose by turning down the FDA LOA and trying to get something better. Scope, best we could get, etc, my arse! But it was pushed on us by the MEC, and to this day I still cant understand why. Maybe the future will reveal the reason.

Concerning the 777, we have all the leverage we could ask for. But the lack of unity will probably make a blowout on this deal too. Imagine the message the Company would get if nobody had the 777 on their standing bid, at least until the day before the bid closes. Geez, that doesnt take a lot of guts. But it does take a little unselfish thinking to understand that concept. Therefore, I dont have much hope. Just being a realist. Hope I am wrong though.
